Workshops

Since 2024, I’ve been hosting photography workshops along Minnesota’s North Shore. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned photographer, my goal is to help you grow and think more intentionally about your approach.

My workshops are fun, flexible, and focused on giving you real-world skills you can immediately apply.

Lake Superior Nights: Night Sky Photography Workshop

Workshop Dates: September 9–12

The North Shore of Minnesota boasts some of the darkest skies in the world. On clear nights, the stars shine brilliantly thanks to minimal light pollution, making the Milky Way an exceptional subject to photograph during the new moon. Paired with the sights and sounds of Lake Superior, the result is a truly unforgettable setting for night photography.

Over the course of three nights and four days, we’ll focus on capturing the night sky while building the skills needed to confidently photograph and process astrophotography images.

Workshop Details

Dates: September 9–12

Our evenings will be spent under the stars, with a primary focus on Milky Way photography. Instruction will cover focusing in the dark, operating your camera at night, camera settings, using star trackers, planning your shots, and creative composition.

During the day, we’ll host guided editing and processing sessions and explore nearby Minnesota State Parks to photograph classic North Shore landscapes.

  • Tripod
  • Laptop with editing software
(Instructors will use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop)
  • Clothing: Dress according to the forecast. The Lake Superior shoreline can be cooler than inland temperatures at night.
